997.1RS Green trades for less than Orange shocker!
Discussion
Is this the first time in ages Green is trading below the Orange price (on a mileage adjusted basis) or is it a Cat Car?

Forgive me if i'm wrong but the green car is £135k and the orange one was £130k ?
And that would have been a record for a 997.1 if it really sold for anywhere near that.
Sorry but a 997.1 RS is not worth £50-55k more than the standard car, they are almost the same car, exactly the same engine, in fact when they were 1st launched all the magazines suggested getting the standard car as the RS was not worth the £15k extra asking price...
But i will admit, Viper green looks the nuts on them.

Exactly what I've always maintained, but, and a bit like Beyonce, it's a big but, sought after Pork is all about numbers, and there's waay too many standard Gen 1 997 GT3's around to make them truly collectable. Not so the Rs.But i agree, dynamically there's so little to chose between the two, I'd go for the standard car every time and have the extra ££££ in the bank.

■44mm wider across the rear axle
■The rear wing is carbon fibre. It is lighter with a larger surface area for more down force
■Rear screen/glass is made of lightweight plastic saving nearly 3 kilos or 6.6 lbs
■Contrasting colour on wheels, side logos and exterior mirrors
■The front spoiler is modified to create more front end down force
■The interior is all black
■Steering wheel is marked at 12 o’clock position
■Standard feature include club sport package and lightweight bucket seats
■415 hp, 305 kw 405 torque. Top speed 193 miles per hour
■20 kilos (44 lbs) lighter than GT3
■301 hp per ton. That 4.3 more than the GT3
■1/10th quicker to 100 kph doing it in 4.2 seconds
■Single mass flywheel vs. Dual mass in GT3 (RS Clutch and LWFW - engine revs more quickly with less rotational mass; slight "chatter" sound at idle and low revs is the downside)
■GT3 designed for occasional racing use
■GT3 RS designed for occasional road use
■Suspension is configured for race/competition driving
■Rear track is wider than that of the GT3
■GT3 RS has split rear wishbones/control arms
■Wheel base is 5 mm longer than on the GT3
■Rear wheel offset change due to wider rear axle
■Front splitter
There was a video recently comparing the 996RS 7.1RS and 7.2RS really quite interesting the view point from the guy doing the video who has a fair bit of track experience. Just found the video below:

A lot of that list is cosmetic guff to be fair, I've edited the list down to the relevant bits, there are of course differences but they are not £50k's worth.¦44mm wider across the rear axle

That being said if I won the euro millions I'd pay £135 for the green one, but only if money was no object.

I said on a mileage adjusted basis. The green car has 9k on the clock, the orange one 27k making the green one cheaper. IIRC someone on here paid £170k odd for a green one a while back when the market was trading under £100k for an orange one. Green ones have traded higher for a while. This is the first time prices have flipped AFAIK.

Not sure anyone paid 170 for one. There was one put up for sale a couple of times at that price, but as far as I'm aware it didn't sell. Almost the same car apart from:
¦44mm wider across the rear axle. My understanding is this is down to wheels, not suspension components.
¦The rear wing is carbon fibre. It is lighter with a larger surface area for more down force. At what ? 180 mph ?
¦Rear screen/glass is made of lightweight plastic saving nearly 3 kilos or 6.6 lbs.
¦The front spoiler is modified to create more front end down force. Front splitter, not spoiler. Fit a Cup item to a standard car.
¦20 kilos (44 lbs) lighter than GT3 So less than a tank of fuel
hey'll
¦301 hp per ton. That 4.3 more than the GT3 Quite possibly, but it'll be cancelled out by the extra drag created by the car's fat arse
¦1/10th quicker to 100 kph doing it in 4.2 seconds
¦Single mass flywheel vs. Dual mass in GT3 (RS Clutch and LWFW - engine revs more quickly with less rotational mass; slight "chatter" sound at idle and low revs is the downside) Drop one in the standard car when you fit a new clutch.
¦Suspension is configured for race/competition driving. It's my understanding it's identical to the standard car.
¦Rear track is wider than that of the GT3. See my notes on the first point. Wheels (again)
¦GT3 RS has split rear wishbones/control arms. Pointless and of no benefit on the road. Fit RSS items or equivalent if going on track.
¦Wheel base is 5 mm longer than on the GT3. 5mm ? Really ? Due to what ? differing caster ?
¦Rear wheel offset change due to wider rear axle. This one's getting a bit's getting tedious now
Mentioning the same thing three times doesn't count you know
The rear wheel offset is to fill out the C4S rear wheelarches the marketing men decreed should be fitted to the car

But numbers wise I don't think there's a lot in it. around 110-120 of each I thought.

The RS has a single mass flywheel so is rather freezer revving, but is to all intents and purposes identical to a CS 997.1 GT3. The wider hips look better and give it slightly rather more presence as does the wing and dairy graphics. My RS was a better example than my GT3 certainly.

Easy to get sucked in with the old 'Sold more required' adds only for the same car to reappear a month later with different pictures. I actually think I know that car that not s month ago the dealer bought for 105k
How is what they paid for it relevant? Buyers decide transaction prices, whether that means he sells it for £100k or £150k.Does anyone have the link to the one I mentioned that went for £150-170k last year?
I remember It was a long thread, and someone on here pulled the trigger on it because he just wanted Green and was willing to pay for it. I think that was the turning point when Green became the rarer more desirable one? (price-wise)

That was not the 170k car, that never sold, the thread you are referring to was an older thread and the green car in question was £100k which at the time was a new high.I remember It was a long thread, and someone on here pulled the trigger on it because he just wanted Green and was willing to pay for it. It's not and I never stated it was I merely mentioned the details I knew of the car. My point if you read it was not to get sucked into the 'Sold' add which is sometimes a spoof
Chillax son!

You're right, it was PistolP and he paid around £25k over an orange price for a green one. So AFAIK there were a couple of orange 7.1RS for sale around Jan asking under £100k. The market has gone up another 30% odd in a few months? Were they the last 2 orange ones sold except for this one at £129k (potentially) or does anyone know of any other sales in between?
