Anyone had BBS LM's refinished?
Discussion
If so what was done to the outer lips in terms of protecting the polished(?) surface?
I am trying to decide what to do with mine. Paint guy told me these modern water based acrylic clear coats wont stick properly to aluminium. I am not sure if just waxing them is enough because of the dust from aggressive track pads..
To be honest I am not sure if I even want polished lips in my car.. The lips are dull grey/silver from soda blasting at the moment and they look ace with gold centers.

Hi - I had a set of silvers changed to silver/gold centres.
I had the centres hand painted/sprayed with BBS Gold paint, and in the end I had the rims powder coated using a silver (or close to) finish. The contrast with the gold centres means that the shade difference between the powder coat and original aluminium(?) is not noticeable....plus they are much more durable now.
I also have another set of original silver BBS LMs and have no problem with the refinished ones.
