Sell RHD 991GT3 Buy LHD 458 Speciale?
Discussion
I can see the benefit buying LHD Speciale in Europe more so with PoundEuro rate. How difficult or rather how easy could
one make it?? Would I be able to literally turn up at foreigne dealer with my briefcase full of Euro's and drive home and then get car
correctively tested for UK?
A rather appealing thought if it could be this simplistic

If its a main dealer car in Germany (like the one posted above) I would expect that I would just call up a main land UK Ferrari dealer and pay them to do the paperwork and shipping.one make it?? Tell you Carl its blinking tempting and a way to get into a Speciale - which in RHD form is a financial impossibility

Well, im sure you would lose the briefcase at the Calais border but if you went with the more traditional payment method of bank to bank transfer then yes, its as simple as you say.one make it?? Your ins co will insure you on the germany reg for a few days to drive it back and then you need to get it UK registered prior to any finance agreement, if needed.
Im not sure if there is much even needed to convert to UK use as i guess the speedo is digital and the headlights switchable from LHD to RHD in the car.

So no VAT or import duty? I understood if you brought your car over from the continent for more than X amount of time, you had to pay something? Otherwise immigrants would be able to drive their cars on foreign plates indefinitely.
You would have nothing to pay on either of the cars in the links above. Both are used vehicles from an EU member country.
The car is classed as new and VAT is payable if it is less than 6 months old and has covered fewer than 6000km. Other than that, no VAT or duty is payable for importing used cars purchased within the EU.

Actually I am pretty sure that if you are in the vat window then the local vat could be reclaimed anyway of its never been paid so is not in the price to begin with. you are not going to pay vat twice.
