Swapping wheels on 997 C4S
Discussion
Hi guys I've just put a deposit down on my first Porsche (a 2008 Gen.1 997 C4S) with these wheels. Anyone know what they are called or have a product code for them?

I really like the Turbo style alloys as shown below. Anyone know the name or product code for these too?

Are they a straight swap? Will they be the same size offsets etc?
Cheers
Rob

Don't know the offset but a couple of things to be aware of.
Pound for pound, the lobsters (official name is Carrera S wheels) you have there are a fair bit lighter than OEM Turbo (and all other period wheel options I think).
In saying that Turbo wheels are forged vs cast lobsters, so are very strong.
Please ensure you get the real deal Turbo wheels and not bendy replicas that weigh a fair bit more than all OEM wheels. You would be much better off keeping your lobsters and I quite like the paint job on your car (similar to the centre locks on my 7GTS)

I prefer your lobster claws tbh. I may perhaps be selling my turbo alloys in the next few weeks. You're probably aware 997 turbo alloys are made by Fuchs and forged lightweight wheels.
Used to have them on my 997 turbo but replaced with BBS F1. I've never mounted them on my car since having them refinished in black with a red lip. They're
in new condition (Basalt black with a red lip) and gold Porsche crests with n rated Michelin PS2s all round again in virtually new condition. If you want the original anodised finish you're better off buying new directly from Porsche who are running special deals at £2800 inc vat with brand new tyres which is a very good deal on at OPC Hatfield when you consider a set of tyres on their own is £1000. The reason I say better to buy new if you want the original silver finish with grey two tone is the anodised wheel finish corrodes after a while or if you get a kerb mark/stone chip which is inevitable on our crap roads and they unfortunately can never be refurbished to the original diamond cut factory finish. They look a bit brighter and chrome finish after refurbing them hence why I had mine painted black.
Not my car but they now look similar to this. PM me if perhaps of interest but to be honest the lobster claws look great imo.

I had Turbo wheels on my C4S - and hated them! I think they lasted a weeksbefore i fitted the CH-Rs, which are not only cheaper than OEM but have a more aggressive offset and in my eyes look a ton better.

I think the problem you have is a Turbo owner is unlikely to swap over wheels from a 'lesser' 911 so you're left with a small number of wide body cars who had the Turbo wheels fitted from factory. However, as has been warned, replicas are plentiful and not good.

Cheers. Don't suppose you know the wheel rim size/Offsets etc do you?

They are 9x19 ET53 and 12x19 ET45.
One neat addition is they come with rim protectors; if you kerb the wheels they can be taken off without any damage to the rim avoiding a costly and undesirable refurb.
They come in black, silver and a couple of variations of grey. I also think they still look smart dirty!

Do look good. Biggest compliment I can pay them is they do not look aftermarket. Really suit the car. What springs / spacers are you running? To my eyes, thes look so right on the car I would definitely go for them looks wise over the turbo wheels, even though they will not be as strong as forged turbo. If I didn't have spyder centre locks, these BBS would be high up my list. Funnily enough you can get a centre lock version of the CH-Rs. They're magnesium i believe, so expensive and not ideal for road use! Look bloody lovely though. The issue with the Spyder wheels is that they have a pretty weedy offset and do not have the same dish as the CH-Rs. It bothered me so much that i didn't get a GTS as a result.
Otherwise, my car is on H&R springs and 5mm spacers on the front.
