997.2 MF Retro Fit
Discussion
Hi All,
Apologies as I'm no doubt covering old ground, but I can't seem to get a straight answer for this from the OPC so thought i'd throw it open to you helpful bunch.
I have a 2009 997.2S PDK Coupe which appears to have been spec'd up with more or less everything except the MF steering wheel.
I'm trying to find out whether it's possible to retro fit a 997.2 MF steering wheel to a car which never had it.
Porsche Solihull are telling me it's a flat no, Hatfield are saying not sure, others are saying "we think so".
I would have thought it would be possible providing I purchased the MF wheel, the little control board for inside the wheel, and then re-used the airbag from my existing non-MF wheel. I appreciate there would be a little OPC time in reprogramming the wheel.
So is there anybody out there who can definitively tell me whether this can be done ?
I know some people will say get a paddle wheel instead, but for where I drive it's pointless, the MF option is far more useful for me.
Really appreciate any input here.
Cheers

Yes it can be done, there are numerous threads on some of the US based forums illustrating how this can be completed:

Try PCT in Coventry, they will undertake the work for you...I enquired in the past.
