Hi All,

One of my alloys paintwork appears to be failing. Couple of questions:

1. Are these diamond cut wheels?
2. What colour is the black? The car (997.2 C2S) is white but are the wheels Basalt black or another black?
3. Any suggestions for someone who can get it back to new - I'm based in NW England.

Pictures of the offending wheel are attached (I hope)!

Thank you in advance.

I used Pristine Wheel Refurbishing in Milton Keynes last year for diamond cut wheels and the quality was brilliant.
I have no affiliation whatsoever just a very satisfied customer and I'm mega fussy!

I found in the past that products like Wonder wheels do this to your alloys, I stopped using it a few years back and haven't had a wheel rot since.

To answer your questions out of order:

In answer to your question c) - Give Chris Weaver (Exel Wheels) a call. http://www.exelwheels.co.uk/ Chris refurbed the Carrera Sport wheels on my car (including a colour change) and made a fantastic job of them. The quality of the finish makes the original factory offering look mediocre.

Chris's service is different to most wheel firms in that he comes to collect your wheels and lends you another set to use whilst yours are being refurbed. He'll then deliver your wheels back to you and refit once they're done. Great idea, takes all the hassle out of wheel refurb and (of course) means you can still use your car!

In answer to your question a) - yes the Carrera Sports are 'diamond turned' (machined) on the shiny rim section, then clear coated. The rest of the wheel is a powder coat colour followed by clear coat.

In answer to your question b) - any colour you like if Chris does the refurb. If you want to keep the same colour, Chris will advise as to exactly what you need.
