911 Aero / GT3 Kit and values...
Discussion
I've been thinking about a 911 recently and quite like the Aero kit, now i appreciate this seems to be a very marmite option and im not looking for opinions on that. What is really confusing me is the asking prices of cars that have this option seem to be MASSIVELY more than basically the same car without the aero kit, in some cases ive seen asking prices upto 10K more on a 30-40k car.
Can anyone shed any light on why theres such a hugh difference, or is it the dealers taking the P....

As a side note, Design911 sell an aerokit for the 997 so if you find a good standard 997, maybe you could put the kit on and save some money?

I am not sure that the aero kit makes a great deal of difference to the value of a given car. No more than colour and spec would anyway. Can anyone shed any light on why theres such a hugh difference, or is it the dealers taking the P....

What I would say is that at the budget you are talking about, make sure you get a Gen 2 with the DFI engine!
I appreciate that they are quite rare but the way i see it (happy to be informed otherwise) is that when your ordering a car that was circa 80K if you wanted the aero kit option at about 3K (is that about what it was?) then you tick the box. As so few have ticked that box i can only assume that not many people want it?

I am not sure that 997 shape needs it. In fact, its much cleaner without it.The GT3 is a different animal of course.

I still maintain that when it comes to the 911 silhouette, the best is the 993 and the 997 is a close second!
