Has anyone purchased TMS for their 997 from the tirerack in the US I sent a email asking for information and got this reply :

Hello and thank you for your message.

The doubt that we have, on this question, is that the european approved frequency may be different than those used in the USA.

For this 2006 PORSCHE 997, Turbo, Porsche USA uses a HUF/BERU 433MHZ sensor. It may be advisable for you to check if this is the correct frequency.

After a bit of googling it seems the sensor is the 433MHZ , any advice on best place to buy these ,

Cheers

Confused by your question a bit - UK uses 433mhz sensors, US use 315mhz - if they supply 433 then you'll be OK

I bought the Beru 433Mhz ones from Tirerack, been in use now for around a year with no issues.

Huf Beru RDE001 is the one for the UK 9x7's, but RDE004 looks like the one you need for 315MHz.

Edit: I misread the post a bit, but RDE001 (433MHz) is the right one for you.

And you will need valve stems, they corrode easily and need mullering to get out! Mine were five years and 20K miles old.

Agreed, bought mine from TPMS.com

S0077K TPMS S0077K Kit
[Colored Valve Stem:Silver Finish Huf Valve Stems] 1 $334.57 $334.57

Subtotal: $334.57
Tax: $0.00
Shipping Cost: $59.95
Grand Total: $394.52

In today's exchange rate that's £243 !!!!

Had them fitted to my spare wheels, (that are permanently on the car laugh ) when they were being refurbed,

Also think I paid about £30 import duty, still a bargain compared to buying in uk and they work perfectly.

Check with the seller re the battery life of those eBsy jobbies, the non-Huf/Beru ones have a life of 1-4 years IIRC.

Cheers site book marked, selling as a kit is a good idea as valve stems will be difficult to remove I expect.
