Any details on 997.1 RS at Automotive Dreams?
Discussion
Gentlemen
I am in the market for a 997.1 GT3 RS .... can anyone help me with information/background on the stunning black RS for sale at Automotive Dreams ? I am looking for a legitimate car, and this one has no over-revs and seems on paper to have good provenance. However, it does concern me that it has Gen 2 decals and Gen 2 style lights .... I love the modifications but am concerned these were made as a result of possible previous accident damage ?
Any information would be much appreciated, dealer isn't close by so ideally don't want to make a wasted trip.
Best.

It looks like a good car that the owner has tweeked to make it more personal,
The grills are an excellent idea as the rads are vulnerable. Car looks like its been professionally detailed as well.
Graphics are easily changed which is what i suspect the owner has done. Highgate do a set of Gen 2 stickers for the gen 1. and I reckon that's what it's wearing. The Gen 2 LEDS are a straight replacement for the originals.
Car looks fine to me but it could well be the result of a biggish repair (Highly polished, replacement lights, graphics etc) so get it checked before you buy.
Lacks PCCBs, though the Alcons are good replacement for OE, and PCM/Sat Nav though which I'd look for personally and the dealer who's done the spiel is used to more run of the mill Porsches based on his description.
I'd always look to buy GT3s from am acknowledged specialist if I possibly could like JZM or Parr but , as long as its not been completely rebuilt it looks very nice.

Thank you all for the information. PH is truly proving to be a remarkable source of information that would otherwise be hard to obtain.
Its a real shame though, car looked really good on paper, but a track repaired car is not what I am looking for, especially as its hard to tell the scale and quality of the repairs.

Lets point out the Gen 2 lights are aftermarket non oem ones , like a lot of 997.1 owner have them I have the rears on my C2S , am less sold on the front lights. So there a direct replacement parts and could change them in 10 mins front and back this would not worry me. Its not had a full front and rear face lift that would imply a accident for sure. Seems some people know about this car and its history

It does seem "known" on here. I personally would not rule out a car that had been properly repaired even after an accident.
