How long does OPC keep your 911?
Discussion
Dropped the car in with my local OPC on 2nd September, since then I've called twice, popped in yet by today still no news from them on its return. Apparently they are awaiting spares from the Fatherland. But not one call from them updating me...is this a record? Not really complaining 'cause it's keeping the mileage down.
Replacement motor for the Targa top, guess they don't have 1996 spares left and are waiting for the supplier to make some? Pity, weather is perfect for roof-off motoring. Just waiting for a call when it's ready. Might pop down again next week for a coffee to see how they are getting along, but so far it's three months without any contact from their end.
Visited OPC yesterday, parts arrived and fitted. Just needs a wash and polish and then it's released. Been kept undercover too, which based on recent rains is surely a good thing? Have to wait and see what the hit on the wallet is going to be then some roof-open driving before the weather heats up.
Well finally collected my car last Saturday 25th Jan, just over 20 weeks with OPC. Roof and sun shade now work fine. Parts charges par for the course I guess but labour charges would really surprise you back in Old Blighty (around £200). Pity the odometer has just given up the ghost, second one to go in the life of the car, and strangely both quit at around 48,000 kms. Built in obselecence?
