A few people I've spoken to suggests that current RS owners will wait for the 991 RS to arrive as the 997.2 RS and the 991 GT3 are totally different machines, but if the 991 is leaps and bounds ahead of the 997 then is it also a better car than the 997.2 RS?

It doesn't matter.

It is a different car which is potentially going to a different market. All of the 3.8 RS owners that I've encountered are rather hooked on changing their own gears. They also all own other cars and the new car having greater road manners is not to them much of a selling point. The next thing that cannot be ignored is of course that there are unquestionably more letters of intent for the RS lodged with dealers than there are expected to be cars allocated to the UK, and that number is expected to be small indeed if it follows the allocation pattern of the 997 3.8RS and 4.0RS and GT2RS. Finally - moving from a 997 3.8RS to a 991RS will require people to be willing and able to put in an extra 40% or so on top of the value of their old car to buy in, further constraining interest.

Keep fishing though Blukoo - I am sure that someone somewhere will be prepared to sett you a 3.8RS someday thumbup

Only one has ceramics and the front lift kit and it's not in the preferred colour scheme. I have been in touch with the garage regarding the car and it doesn't sound good enough to settle for.

Thought I'd bump this to see if there are any new 991 GT3 owners looking to sell up their old toy...

Hello, sounds like you are looking for a specific spec. Mind if I ask what is your ideal spec?

Ideal spec is blue/gold or white/gold with ceramics and lift.
Under 15k miles.
Very good condition with original paintwork.

I have found a few blue ones for sale in the past. One was perfect but the owner decided not to sell at the last minute.
The others had received, or needed paintwork to be classed as mint or were just too high mileage for their age.

Nearly pulled the trigger on one which was for sale privately @ RPM. It was white/red. Absolutely beautiful condition and also one of the highest spec ones delivered to the UK. Around £140k brand new with all the options.
Once again the owner decided to keep just was we were ready to pay the deposit.

ceramics...lift...under 15k...with the bonus of white/red....a distinctly superior colour choice smile

You could also say there's loads that don't. I know of 2 997.2 Turbo S's that got traded in for 991's that went straight onto the forecourt.

I swear all you do is talk 99% nonsense on here.
