993 Windscreen Seal

You will have the entire 993 tribe descending on you for this one. (I am a member). It can probably be bodged a bit but it's a well-known issue and in today's market will have to have been addressed by a recognised bodyshop who will remove and refit screen properly with correct sealing etc. All sorts of horrors such as the VIN plate covered in gunk can result. And it will probably need doing again in a year or so. And come the time when you want to sell it, you will get a hard time over it. Ask someone like Precision, Langley Autocraft or Riviera Autobody for a quote. Sorry!

It should pull straight off with care/patience. Mine is quite tight though and fiddly to gain sufficient purchase to remove. You will find that there is very limited access to the (likely) rusty gully between the plastic frame and surrounding metal which makes it very difficult (impossible?) to remove all the rust (both visible and lurking under the paint). On the plus side, liquid rust converters tend to pool just where they are needed most! I've treated my windscreens (front and back) several years running now and naively believe that the rust is "under control" (no holes yet when I attack it with a grout scraper, a strangely satisfying task!).Have fun!
