It’d be interesting to know if the rumours of the later cars having a more settled ride are true?
Has anyone any direct experience of this?
It's hard to answer fairly because I have not driven an early Touring. But I can say that mine, (MY24) rides really well. In fact I would go as far as to say I was surprised it was so good after all the media and internet chatter saying how bad it was.

Again, being transparent I have only just covered a 1000 miles in it. I did most of the miles on the undulating roads in Norfolk and Suffolk while looking at houses. Nearly all B roads and defiantly not all smooth tarmac....

PCCBs, I have had them on a lot of 911s. To be honest the main advantages are a bit of extra brake feel, (or is that all in my head)? The lack of dust and the weight savings. But I doubt I or anyone needs them over the steels.

Thanks, l had in my head it was from 23 on.
I can’t remember where l read that, from memory the gist was that after the 992 GT3RS they improved.
It apparently drove better on road than the regular GT stuff.
They’re getting to a price where where it’s tempting, but it looks like later cars are a better bet…

Unless the parts catalogue shows up different or superseded parts though it’s more than likely in the set up which anyone can play with no?

Very true, there might not even have been a change…opinions and memories aren’t precise!

There was a suggestion that the PASM profile of the ST might be an option ... of course that car also has PCCB's and mag wheels ... for its £400k ??

(three for sale with almost zero miles currently)

I dont think there has been a change,im sure that news would have come out by now,i have to say my 21 car is sublime on the road ahead of anything before it i have owned for ride quality.
I did insist on a re set geo before purchasing.

I'm probably going against the grain here, but as desirable as the PCCBs are, the steels would not be a deal breaker for me.

Far cheaper to replace if worn or damaged, with the option of upgrading the pads and discs if you require.

If ceramics have not been treated right, its an expensive replacement in the not to distant future.

Only my thoughts, but would really like to hear real world views from owners that use the car rather than be concerned about the value if it if its missing PCCBs and dashboard stitching.
I did 3000 road only miles in my 992 GT3 Touring. I spec'ed the car with Manual, Buckets, Lift and PCCB's. The PCCBs were a last minute 50/50 decision which honestly i mainly did to help resale but they were amazing and i would definitely choose them again. Of course i can't compare with the same spec Touring without PCCBs. The pedal feel was fantastic and they were confidence inspiring too when pressing on. I also never felt car my car (Late 2022 delivery with Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres) had the harsh ride others claimed. Maybe the lighter mass brakes helped? Added bonus, zero break dust. I only ever cleaned the wheels with soap, no wheel cleaner, which made looking after the car a pleasure.

It is apparently a software change for the damper ECU, so i don't think any part numbers would have changed to highlight the difference. I guess someone with access to the software could check what version changes there were if any over the production run?

Dynamic and performance arguments aside, that’s a massive plus on PCCBs. Less brake dust, which is much less difficult to clean off and also generally less corrosive on wheels and callipers. Plus, the discs don’t rust if, like a lot of us end up doing, you wash car after use and garage it.

Using a leaf blower only gets rust off outside surfaces of the discs. For me, on the lane I live on, a quick round the block to dry brakes is a PITA.

The downside of PCCB’s is the curse of rim scoring from trapped stones on the front end.

Ask me how I know….. wink

I think it happens to them all ... generally it's just cosmetic but I have seen a video of car dragged out of the kitty litter where the magnesium shavings were far more substantial than cosmetic ... at what point might this become a safety issue ?

(One could argue with just cause that the car should have been lifted out !)

You’re told on every track day… make sure to attach tow hook… else they’ll look to retrieve you by any means necessary.

We know the Marshalls and teams are there for safe operations, they aren’t thinking about the value of the car they are snatching. Lol
