Question for those in the know.
Would a GT car for sale in the Isle of Man be classed as an import following its uk registration? I’m also trying to understand the knock on being imported could have to the car and its future value. Would it make it less saleable?

It wont be an import as it’s a c16 uk car, just registration takes a little longer.

An Isle of Man car is a full UK spec car with no different specification, or tax treatment. I have bought many cars new and secondhand from various manufacturers in the Isle of Man and regularly sell them on in the UK. I have never had any issues of value or saleability. As far as Porsche go all the warranty, servicing, recovery, tracker etc etc are exactly the same UK or Isle of Man.Would a GT car for sale in the Isle of Man be classed as an import following its uk registration? I have a UK address and an Isle of Man address so I regularly move cars around.
That’s not to say the re-reregistration process is always smooth and easy. In theory it’s a straightforward task of sending the Isle of Man registration documents to the DVLA all marked up as vehicle for export, fill in the V55/5 document, include a cheque (remember those ) and wait a couple of weeks and a UK logbook arrives.
In practice there are a myriad of ways it can get screwed up! Especially if personal reg numbers are involved. Plus the DVLA occasionally throw a random wobble.
Once it is UK registered it still shows the original and correct first registration date on the logbook, and depending how the DVLA are feeling the correct number of former keepers. Although occasionally it looses that field and shown none.
Which can be nice depending on your point of view.
Should you be buying a Porsche from the Isle of Man then I would negotiate the deal based on the seller providing the UK registration. Assuming that is a dealer or the OPC in the Isle of Man then that should not present any issues. There can be a bit of a wait while the DVLA gets its act together but generally it’s about 2 weeks turnaround.
Feel free to PM me if you need any help.

I will be speaking to him again tomorrow and will drop you a message if I have any more questions. You’ve certainly put my mind at rest as I very nearly ruled the car out tbh.
I bought a 991.2 GT3 from the IoM OPC in February of this year, so can confirm the statements above about DVLA turnaround time, registration plate etc. The OPC took care of getting the DVLA stuff sorted for me. I picked the car up, while it was still on its IoM plate, but if I could do it again, I’d see if the OPC could take care of all the below before delivery, instead of after, so the car was UK registered before you drive it away.
If you are picking the car up yourself and it’s on it’s IoM plate and it’s old enough for an MoT, you will need to MOT it on the mainland, as soon as you can - otherwise, when the DVLA go to register it, it will show as not having an MOT (the MOT station should log the car using its VIN, so the DVLA can find it). Also, with IoM plates on, it may attract the attention of your local traffic cops and not having an MOT certificate might be a problem. Getting it insured might involve some explaining about the car (registration plate, “no, it’s not an import” type conversation), so I wouldn’t leave that too late in the process either to get it sorted out, so you’re insured from the moment you pick it up. The OPC were happy to let me know the old UK registration, which helped the insurance company get squared away (A-Plan the broker and Chubb insure my cars).
Hope this helps.

Interior not looking it’s best, but at least they have priced it on a more level playing field.

That's stunning, I'd buy that in a heartbeat or maybe a 720s. So many choices in that price range Interior not looking it’s best, but at least they have priced it on a more level playing field.

and with G in the last 8 letters, does it mean it is of G series engine (the best engine for 991.1 GT3)?

Have there been any known failures on the G series engines?and with G in the last 8 letters, does it mean it is of G series engine (the best engine for 991.1 GT3)?
Certainly puts me off that model longer term, why would you take the risk
