But not as pretty as a 991.2.
Ha ha...every new Porsche I get, someone says the previous model was better!I didn't want 'Pretty'....I wanted 'double hard!'
Said in jest, Maxym. I appreciate all 911 generations :-)

Calling custard on the traction part, 911 does not have an issue in this regard with engine at rear and super wide tyres.
Its also super planted and predictable.
All depends what you are used to, my 456 ferrari was a handful, every TVR ive had especially Cerberas, M3 E46, AMG 36, 3.2 911 - but compared to a 4WD 200 bhp hatch you need to drive within the grip.
Although its entry level 911, its still got more power than a lotus carlton....
@bennno, out of interest, is your 992T fitted with a 7MT or PDK transmission? Its also super planted and predictable.

Wow car prices are low at moment, had a look on auto trader for a 992 t and all of them were pdk.
I understand that the OPCs order and advise clients to buy PDK (I was advised to order PDK, for resale?!). Hence greater PDK availability. However, enthusiasts prefer 7MT. As seen on our limited sample - order to delivery log. We have 5:2 ratio of 7MT vs PDK respectively.
I think that the 7MT will retain value better, as sadly it is approaching an extinction point in our brief history

I've never had an OPC try to push me into a PDK car, although all the 911's I've owned (997, 991 & 992) have been PDK variants. That isn't because I'm not an 'enthusiast' as you state, but merely for me the PDK is percieved fundamentally better in pretty much every way to a manual, whether that be in performance at that end of the scale, or convenience at the lowest end.
I'm not saying I wouldn't consider going manual, as if my OPC were ever to give me a GT3 slot I'd be sorely tempted to go manual 'Touring', but whether I could actually follow through with that come time of placing an order would be something entirely different.
Different things for different folks, and personally as said, I don't think its whether you are an enthusiast or not, but more what/when/how you use the car, and what you are wanting to achieve from it to that end.

The value retention is an interesting question, and I would say it depends if you are talking medium or long term. However, enthusiasts prefer 7MT. As seen on our limited sample - order to delivery log. We have 5:2 ratio of 7MT vs PDK respectively.

I would normally agree, the MT would hold its value better, as outside PH its the minority choice, so going to be much rarer. Its an enthusiast model so the desire for more driver involvement will be there. I would say this will hold true medium to long term, especially if they go hybrid and manuals are discontinued, there will be a FOMO bubble created as people scramble to bag one.
Even longer term though there is a different issue. As soon as driving instructor cars have to be electric, everyone will have an auto only license. So the next generation, who would be the ones that would dictate its longer term future value, wont be able to drive them, both officially or physically. So the pool of potential owners will be dying out, quite literally.

I stated that from limited sample, captured in the Order to Delivery thread it appears that the enthusiasts on this forum prefer 7MT in a ratio of 5 vs 2 that pref PDK, so small sample that is not statistically significant, but that is what we know.
Also, it appears that you didn't need convincing to buy PDK, as you ordered one, or rather three, because that is what you want and good for you. I had to explain to OPC that I am buying it for myself, not for resale and I don't care that majority of buyers want PDK and resale will not be that strong.
I agree with your point of diff things for diff folks, I know some hard core guys who drive PDK, and I agree that PDK is superior tech in many ways, just like electronic Tacho will be technically superior, but not everybody wants it. For me the 992T is one of the slowest 992 and I care more about the engagement with manual controls, and shorter final drive with LSD for good measure.
Some of the PDK guys I ride with are much bigger enthusiasts than me. And if I get GT3 allocation, I will take PDK
I had a similar conversation when I ordered my car are you sure you want a manual???
I know the 991.2 t indy dealers defo like manual and sell them at a premium I also think the pdk car is amazing so it's choice.
Ps if I got a gt3 spot it would be pdk too!!!
Have a watch of the carrera t video on you tube from seen through glass he explains it well as he owns a gt3 but personally I don't think you need rws personall choice again.
