so now 991's are cheaper than 997's.
how low will they go?
I know some people will disagree with this but as 991.1's come up to 10 years old and lose the engine warranty I think the market for them could struggle a bit. how low will they go?

Prob one of the highest mileage 991.1 GT3s at 34k and slightly weird spec with pccbs and comfort seats. Has the front end been painted? If so check where it was done.
Doubtful it has £20k of options. Prob nearer £14k. So otr list aroind £115k. They have listed many standard features in the extras list unsurprisingly.
How many owners?. The history needs checking carefully.
As Mankers says check whether the car has had a g engine under warranty. My 991.1 GT3 was similar age and had a factory fit upgraded engine with certificate to prove which is a big plus on these for resale.
This was a good friend of mines, it was his daily for 18 months or so. He bought it from Porsche chester in May/June 2020 on 17k miles (still has dealer warranty on it)- needless to say it got used as intended not shut away in a garage! The end plates on the wing he had wrapped and the car was ppf'f fully on the front. The engine sticker doesn't indicate a new engine however as mentioned if you look underneath the car it might have had one... Either way the car was used and maintained no expense spared, we did a few track days this year and it didn't miss a beat. He only got rid as he wants a new car next year and thought it would be silly to put another 5-10k on it over the winter just to sell come next year. Doubtful it has £20k of options. BMW E30 M3's are pushing £100k today.
IMHO any 996 GT3 is a good buy right now. No idea of the value of any ICE car, but it's potentially a car that would do well.
Amazing where the E30 M3 has gone.IMHO any 996 GT3 is a good buy right now. No idea of the value of any ICE car, but it's potentially a car that would do well.
I'm also considering an updated and restored 964 (very different car, various RS bits mechanically and externally but still looking original, suspension done, etc) but it's the same money as the GT3s I am looking at. Do you think there's more value and potential in the GT3 than the 964, which seems to have gone up a bit recently (at least based on advertised prices).
I'll want to use the car but I don't need to do any daily driving - purely for pleasure, although I'll put some miles on it for trips through Europe (based in Prague, where there are some amazing country roads and little traffic). I'm not looking to buy based on investment criteria but it's certainly something that's nice to have in the back of your pocket if possible.
Hard to say on values overall.
IMHO, probably a 996 Gt3 has 'more to go' than the 964 platform, which has appreciated a fair bit in recent years. However, as I often say, there are many potential, theoretical reasons/scenarios that could effectively sign the death warrant of ICE cars.
We should enjoy them while we can and bugger the depreciation and mileage worries.

Nice looking one from Ashgood just gone reserved.
Had been eyeing it up, but 918 buckets are mandatory for me.

Looks good history and nice spec apart from no extended leather so placcy dash and door tops which most buyers of gen 1 and 2 want.
Above average relative miles for a 991.1 GT3.
Car with buyers fee lol is coincidentally basic list price ££.
Any proper warranty?
I would want to know number of owners what they mean by PDK gearbox work and engine replacement history such as which OPC did the engine swap (car is to old to have had a factory production line swap) and has it got the latest G series engine.

Poverty spec. At that money could you live with the plastic dash and plastic door cards. Very bland version if you ask me. Must be better out there for that money. Gassing Station | 911/Carrera GT | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
