which type of ISA is it ?
just one that flashes a warning for a few seconds ?
My partner picked up her new Cayenne last month and any time you go over the speed limit, there’s an annoying sound that kicks in. It’s a similar sound cars play when seatbelts aren’t done.

I’ve set one of the shortcut buttons to turn the sound off but this needs to be done every time the car is started.

From what I’ve read, all new cars will have this but I have a friend who just picked up a brand new McLaren 750S and his car doesn’t have it.
thanks
annoying

our new bmw gets away with just silently flashing the speed limit at you a few times

ironically, the only way to stop it flashing again is to stay above the speed limit !

The last century.
It is my understanding that the next Turbo will have even more advanced e-turbo/hybrid technology, which won’t be compatible with the manual gearbox.
The Turbo S yes, but the Turbo they could well be right about.

I am keen to see the specs of 992.2 C2S, or perhaps C4S if it is hybrid

The 992.1 GTS was quick already, the 992.2 GTS is savage on paper.

I currently drive 992 C2T, which is my interim vehicle, until I get the 992.2 Targa 4S… I think it will be epic!

No, just that mine has none of that as a 23MY

Every new car sold in Europe after 7th July 2024 must be fitted with ISA, which must automatically be on when the car is started every time.

However it can be switched off, what we don't yet know is how easy it is to do so for each model.

Correct but Porsche being German and efficient, have been putting them in cars since MY 22 as that was the previous implementation law date, then got postponed 2 yrs. Even though Porsche is a public company now and profit profit profit I would be surprised if they changed the production robotic process to take them out again for 2 years, but maybe they did. November 2021 going to order a 992 GTS from Russell at Guildford, who absolutely had no idea on ISA, spoke to someone in production in Germany who confirmed MY 22 cars fitted with ISA as the law was for sometime in 2022, think it was April, but could have been June 22.

I’m not convinced, the rules said for new cars introduced after 2022, the 992.1 came out in 2019 ……

I don’t think anybody has yet driven the 992.2 so it’ll be interesting to see - on an m2 it’s buried away in a stack of sub menus

It’s on the cayenne and you can figure diamond button the steering wheel to switch it off, a few you tube videos. So looks like a one button push job.

It is grim. I have it on a new Land Rover and you have to remember to switch it off every time. I understand that the UK have opted out of the EU legislation that would bring the speed back to the limit, but how long before that becomes mandatory?

Honestly, it makes getting into my very analogue 991 feel very special.
Funny you mention Land Rover. I considered whether to ‘upgrade’ my manual 991, but in the end added another car to the stable instead. Velar SVA with a V8. It sounds great and although it has lane assist, crucially you need to actively turn it on if wanted.

Although it's presumably the same lane keep as in my F type, which is useless. Volvo, hyundai EV both miles ahead

I haven’t tried it yet. Not really something that I feel I need. Adaptive cruise is a new thing for me and very useful. I wish I’d specced it in the Taycan. My 991 doesn’t even have basic cruise control!

I have the speed warning feature on my i5m60, which can be turned off by simply holding down a button on the steering wheel. This feature is quite useful when driving in cities where speed limits change frequently, or when navigating areas like Wales with their variable 20/30/20 speed limits. However, my March 2023 992.t lacks this functionality and imo is better for it.

Does anyone have any info on when we can expect reviews / first drive videos on the 992.2?

Typically, there will be the initial press driving reviews, carefully choreographed by Porsche on some flattering Euro roads.

However, the more meaningful ‘real world’ road tests of UK cars on UK roads probably won’t be until much later this year.

Presumably the Carrera is likely to drive much as the 992.1. But the new GTS hybrid will be more interesting, although may not appeal to everyone, as some of the launch reviews have already alluded to.

Press drives are starting next week but there is an embargo to the middle or end of July.

First deliveries in early 2025
