Some will have no choice but to sell at less than they want if they cannot afford it!
As said there are a lot of dreamers out there at the moment but they need to be careful if they need to sell for whatever reasons.
And I am neither a buyer or seller just an impartial observer of the current market!

I think that gap will close though and For me It will be yea, because i wont be buying from porsche directly and hopefully some sellers will be keen to do a deal by then, when they start to see prices properly falling.
No one can be forced to sell or buy at a particular price obviously. If both parties are happy then get the deal done, but for me im hanging tight to see if these suspected big falls happen and will keep an eye on prices over the coming months.

The WBAC current price of £53000 on the 991.1 GTS against the Porsche dealer which has it up at £76000 imo I think is about right. I am sure with a vehicle like the 911.1 Gts, certain independent dealers would offer more as the car has a lot going for it but even then they will be getting cautious now.I don’t think many Porsche dealers will be wanting to add stock at this time and even if they did they would want to plan for it getting worse out there.

If you add £15000 normal markup on that £53000 WBAC valuation, a main dealer would probably have it retailed at £69995.it’s not a typical car the 991.1 GTS. It’s got that little bit of special in it being the last NA engine and so it doesn’t quite fit in the normal depreciation as other vehicles. If I was a buyer for a main dealer I would probably pay up to £57000 if the condition was good and still take a gamble and put it on for £75000 but in reality and because everything is being dragged down that personally a 20000 mile 991.1 GTS is not worth £76000 and is actually worth £65000/£67000 retail.

The problem right now is virtually every dealer is stuck with substantially over priced stock. It’s clearly overpriced because I’ve been tracking 10+ vehicles and they are all coming down in price being reduced by £1000 to £2000 or £3000 most months.

Unless Porsche comes to the market soon with a discounted finance rate to support their network I think late December/ Jan will be when the panic truly sets in and we will see some really substantial drops in prices.

Way too many high end cars for too few punters who can absorb finance rates at 11%+

Discounted new buys especially ones pre registered delivery miles will be the savvy purchases.
The used models will be the usual higher the price the bigger the fall yet some models will fare better than others but the last few years of increased numbers of production of cars will not fare as well as older models which are more limited numbers.
So if you have a good manual , low owners/miles
997.2/987.2 there will always be a strong demand.
The problem with Porsche over the last few years is they have turned a corner in the same way BMW and Mercedes did in the late 80s early 90s in that they have become more mainstream and low interest rates have help to fuel this!
Where they go from here is anybody’s guess!

Don’t think they were over paying the OPC offered me only 4k less the month I sold it. The market just changed for nearly new stock because more new stock is available with the ramp up of production and the interest rate changes. When I bought the car interest rates were 6.9 when I sold it they were 12.4 with Porsche . The same car pcp monthly payments would be double and that’s the issue and why so many new cars are sitting in dealerships.

I had the car 8 months and sold it for 2k less than what I paid new. I just got lucky ! As the Porsche 8k price increase had a temporary blip on second hand prices at the time .

I would say that WBAC is probably not the best place to achieve good prices for specialists cars or highly spec cars . But for lightly spec newish cars their prices are normally pitched right .

Is 2k less including finance repayments?

If you were paying 1k a month on finance and sold the car for 2k less than what you paid, you've actually lost 10k on the car in 8 months.

As a private seller in the past if I am getting half way between trade and retail I am happy but problem today is private sellers want retail prices and all the time prices are dropping, I think some sellers need to get real as could become worse off holding out!
My experience currently selling a car (not a Porsche but it is still German prestige - less than 2 years old).

Best trade bid £35k
Similar Autotrader dealer cars £44k
Listed private at £36,950 to get any interest at all

So more like 80% saving to buyer (from reatil) and 20% upside to seller (from trade bid)

WBAC are dreamers when it comes to specialist cars. Snotters are their bread and butter. For a laugh I input the details of my GT4 and they valued it at £35k. I sold it private for near double that without a problem rofl

Somehow 991.2 Carrera 4 are crazy expensive.

In a way I get it, it's basically the turbo without the wing but with the wide body. It looks great and will be excellent to drive, but not shouty.

Well it's been for sale since January so some might say it's overpriced.

There comes a point where if a car hasn't been used regularly it causes issues one would imagine? Seals drying out?

Not on a modern car like this - which seals?

Air conditioning?

I guess it doesn't sound good for a car to have sat around for 10 months not being used.
