I can't see many of these being sold unless it's a boring spec, I wonder what the turbo prices might be, £190k start price.
In 3 or 4 years time there will be loads of poverty spec ones for sale, yet the reality is it was far from poverty when ordered!

In fairness we have had fairly significant inflationary factors over the last 5 years.
Think the base model looks more desirable than the GTS model.
Agreed, I would take the base or wait to see if they do a T
Doubt it. The T is just a one time release per main model number, and the manual is a key offering for the T but the Gen 2 won't ever have manual again. Them days are sadly over.

I hope they do, the 992.1 T will probably be my next car. I still want to do a factory order for a 911 but it has to be manual.
Hope so too....bur certainly think that they have silently killed off the manual now forevermore.

Porsche isn’t going to abandon this market overnight.
I agree, that is why they will quietly let it slip away with each and every .2 model not having the option - avoids them having to discuss it head on.

That or, not the T nor the S, but they will do a final hurrah to the manual as a special SC edition.

manual isnt going anywhere soon. the 992.2 turbo coming next year will be rear wheel drive and manual only, same as the sport classic
The turbos' are never manual these days, and they won't do another Sports Classic for the Gen 2 - no way Jose

Won’t be a Sport Classic but it’s 50th Anniversary of the Turbo next year and Porsche were never going to miss out on that opportunity. 2 special cars coming.
Ah that makes sense. I know fabric wise they are still to do a heritage car with the Pascha cloth (they said it was planned to be used) so a Turbo 50th anniversary might be when we see it.

The last century.
It is my understanding that the next Turbo will have even more advanced e-turbo/hybrid technology, which won’t be compatible with the manual gearbox.
The Turbo S yes, but the Turbo they could well be right about.

Does anyone have any info on when we can expect reviews / first drive videos on the 992.2?
Press drives are starting next week but there is an embargo to the middle or end of July.

First deliveries in early 2025
you can guarantee it'll be the same fan-boys toeing the Porsche party line.

Seen quite a few mixed reviews.

Sure there will be some improvements, but it is also cited as moving the 911 even further from its origins.
Add to that price rises and lending rates, and can’t see a stampede to get one.
Bit odd that though as its a review from an armchair.

I've put in an order and I'm first on the list but I'm looking to collect mine next Summer so Porsche will keep moving me down the allocation list until I'm ready.

I want to see the new 911 in the flesh and drive it of course. I currently have a GT4 and would like to move over to something a lil' softer now with creature comforts.

I've spec'd mine with the carbon package but it appears some of the bodykit gets painted Anthracite with this option and that's something I need to see in person to determine how well it contrasts with black.

I find it annoying that when you select exterior package in black, it paints the wheels in gloss black too. Really detest gloss black wheels.

I'm not overly bothered about the tachometer or ignition key (albeit the implementation of the start/stop button could've been done a lot better). I'm a software developer so naturally love tech and the all digital dash really doesn't bother me.

The only thing that is a little concerning for me is what the vertical slats will look like in person. More concerned about what the slats will look like when they're fully closed - a huge flat piece of plastic with visible slits in them? Keep swinging back and fourth on how I feel about them.

In terms of the hybridisation, again I think it's natural progression. It's going to happen at some point or another and I have faith that Porsche would've implemented it well.

Lovely stealth spec - just unsure, with respect, with the carbon roof - looks a bit like a toupee. Ruins the classic body shell lines in my opinion.

Very nice! Love the roof stripes option. Didn’t know that option existed till now.

Cheers for sharing that mate. I think the carbon roof contrasts really well with the crayon bodywork.

I just found this image online and I don't think it looks as good on a black car.

100% agree. As forewarned, it ruins the body lines too much.
