“The new 911 GT3 RS is even more optimised for track use than its predecessors. The spontaneously responsive, high-revving four-litre, six-cylinder boxer engine with approximately 500 PS has proven ideal for use at trackdays and club sport events,” says Andreas Preuninger, Director GT Model Line. “That's why we focused primarily on aerodynamics and chassis questions in the development of the new 911 GT3 RS.”
If you read the blurb, then read it again regarding the engine, its somewhat seems to be they are talking about the 992 GT3 Engine being high revving 4.0 with 500ps, it doesn't openly say the RS is going to have 500ps.. mid you its Tuesday and my brain is already frazzled so who knows what i talking about!

It'll have between 525-530PS tops and no more. The Ring time will come from increased aero with an active rear wing, wider tyres, new rubber compound. If its like the 992GT3 it'll also be much easier to drive near the limit compared to the 991.2GT3 RS which can be a real handful.
Porsche have had the same winning formula for 20 years and as they say '' If it ain't broken.........''

600 more like. They need to make a PR bang. I called it with the GT4RS at 500 when everyone was lowballing it. 530 is not enough of a step change. 600 for sure.
I would be very happy with 600 but I can’t see it from the 4.0.500HP was easy in the 4RS as the engine existed.
WLTP stats on the press release for the 3RS are identical to the GT3 so go and figure…
I do hope I am wrong.

Press announcement does say approximately 500ps
I thought the press announcement was referring to the existing 992 GT3 engine. I can’t see the RS having fewer horses than the previous generation car, however good the aero and other changes are!Edited by Sport_Turismo_GTS on Tuesday 26th July 22:16

I seem to remember someone dyno'ing the 3RS WP and getting over 530 despite the book saying 520
The RS WP gained approx 10HP over the previous non ITB vesrion but since it was halfway through an existing model cycle they never bothered to re-homologate due to further delays and costs. The engineering of the GPF and ITBs delayed things enough without further waiting in line for homologation. Its the same reason they left the official weight at the same 1430Kg despite the RS WP's exhaust saving 10Kg.The 992RS will have the same 4L as the GT3 but will be officially rated at 530PS due to some more efficient intake breathing and possibly a freer exhaust. That's it folks !!
