So, I got sport chrono by default on my 992T, never used it once so far, can anybody advise what it does and how to control it?
When you engage sport mode it’ll rev match for you and the ‘dynamic’ engine mounts will stiffen up. Plenty of people on here have had the mounts replaced under warranty, so keep this in mind in terms of renewing your warranty. Grantstown said:

“ Comfort Access
Keyless entry and drive: unlocking and locking of the vehicle including luggage compartment lid. Includes automatic extension of the exterior door handles when the vehicle is approached from the side
Note: The Comfort Access uses state of the art technology. However, it cannot be completely ruled out that the key´s wireless encryption code is intercepted and used to open or steal the vehicle“
They know there is an issue with cars being stolen yet they don’t give the option to delete? Madness
What’s the point, this car has comfort access and the mandatory ISA speed restrictions box in it, if you still have a car on your drive to drive, you will be controlled by speed interventions when you do get out in the wild! Just go buy a great back catalogue 911 or for the money they want for GTS, go buy a Ferrari F12, now that’s a car, no comparison unless you have to have back seats, which has kept the 911 alive as a sports car option“ Comfort Access

The Ferrari however has the potential to be financially ruinous however, without even going wrong.maura said:
?? What are you talking about.. how many Ferraris have you owned benno? Mistake to post what I think of the new 992.2 in a Porsche Forum. Faceplant emoji..
One. That single V12 Ferrari was enough, a £8.9k service bill with a warranty renewal proposal on top was fairly eye watering.Youforreal. said:
Is that a typical yearly service cost?
Absolutely not, with a capital N. What I should have said was his was an exception. Over 8 Ferrari V12’s every bill from main dealer has been between £1500 to £2200, the highest was £3300 that included spark plugs and front pads. Those Ferrari V12’s bought right are the same price of any of my Porsche services which are between £900 to £1700. I apologize to Benno, I don’t know him or his finance circumstances, but it sounds like he didn’t buy right and other areas cropped up on his car bar a well maintained car. Agree let’s get back on point. 992.2, not for me, happy with 991 T and will buy a 991 R, new stuff with all the Nannie’s, Meh. Point I was making the price of 992.2 GTS puts you into way better cars and don’t look like 90% of the same 992.Edited by maura on Friday 31st May 16:10

No chance.
The manual gearbox is an intrinsic part of the 911’s history.
And, whilst the newer models have been developed to appeal to a wider customer base, many of whom want an ‘auto’, there remains a core of traditional 911 buyers for whom the manual gearbox is an essential part the 911 driving experience.
Porsche isn’t going to abandon this market overnight.
It’s true that it might not be compatible with the new hybrid technology, but something like the next ‘T’ will doubtless offer the 7-spd option.

I agree, that is why they will quietly let it slip away with each and every .2 model not having the option - avoids them having to discuss it head on. That or, not the T nor the S, but they will do a final hurrah to the manual as a special SC edition.

The ISA can be switched off. Defaults to on when the vehicle is started.
Correct, and the insurance companies will know and good luck with a claim. This whole ISA has been dreamt up and lobbied by the Insurance Companies on the back of you know what. Stage 1 to driverless cars. Don’t think this is for cars after July 2024, these boxes have been in Porsche since 2022 when it was to go live but uk wasn’t ready. Alarmingly was told by someone who would know, a famous motor journo, that Mercedes got ready for 2022 implementation in 2020! Gassing Station | 911/Carrera GT | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
