Porsche are only making 200 unit for the UK.
Yikes. Think this will be quite a hit, marketing cynicism aside.

Does anyone know if PTS is available for this model? If so, does it slow down the delivery of the car if you opt for a colour that already has a code?

No option for PTS on the 'T' on the configurator, but there is for a standard Carrera.

Yeah, emissions did cross my mind regards the gearbox.
Believe me I do get the point :-) It's just what they've given us at the price it is, that's what I meant by keeping it basic. Spec it too much and it is touching Gts territory.
I'd prefer it faults and all over the GTS, regardless of the price. Whether that's me being manipulated by the marketing I'm not sure!
If it had the 3.4 NA I'd even have it over a GT3 - much more usable!

Mark my words, this will be the one that got away for a lot of people.

If you have the opportunity to get one, I would grab it.

Like cmoose says though, spec will be key and the less fripperies the better. Buckets and PCM are probably all you will need.

I can see these going for well over list when they stop taking orders and the reviews come out saying its greater than the sum of its parts.

That doesn't mean anything per se....you can still order PTS without it being on there unless Porsche GB have said categorically you can't have one like they have with GT3.

If you ask your sales contact at the OPC for a PTS slot they will then go to Porsche GB who will then come back with a yes/no.

Based on 200 cars each OPC will have roughly 5 build slots....what you need is your OPC to have an available build slot that can be moved to the next PTS window. Next window is I believe is Feb as that's when the PTS GT3's that every country in the world except the Uk seems to be able to order! Those cars seem to be going into lock down now so you might get lucky if you can order one immediately. There's no science to when PTS build slots are though...next one after Feb 18 might not be til early Summer or even later.

As a guide we ordered a PTS Boxster which is currently on the way to our OPC

March - car ordered
May - Porsche GB confirmed PTS for October build "We have enough time to order the paint" is what the e-mail actually said! Locked down very soon after.
October - Car built

Would have originally been an August build.

Rear axle steer - anyone experienced this and deem it neccessary in the 911T?
I've not experienced it.

I'm still trying to work it out in my own head.
Will the gearbox etc differentiate it enough to make it more than a gts with less power.
I think the ethos of it gives licence to spec in the buckets/manual etc and still be in keeping with the car and what people want from it.

I wouldn't bother with RWS. I wouldn't even bother with BOSE. I'd probably have to have the interior pack - but that's only because the standard interior looks dull. I'd of thought if you haven't put a deposit in already you could be too late - I think I heard 300 cars for UK but could of misheard?

ps - would like to see a set of modern Fuchs (as per 50th Anniversary) on it. Not sure they make them for the C2 body though..

eta - even though i felt like a t i t driving my last bright yellow Porsche... I think I'd have to have a second helping with the T and go yellow again. Looks ace in the adverts

Point taken!!
What's the thinking on colour. I'm strangely drawn to the yellow?? I never normally am.
Btw, why the feck can't we add 19" wheels? If they'll take the bother to add or delete seats or pcm for free, changing wheels can't be that difficult.

Same here.

This is what I ordered last week:

Porsche Code PJFINDP2.

Unfortunately, I have a narrow tandem garage and the bucket seats are a pain to get out of in there. I also felt it crucial to cap the price point for the car for it to make sense.

To me, ordering my own personally specified, first ever brand new 911, is a dream come true. Rightly or wrongly, having toyed with ordering a lightly specced Carrera earlier in the summer, it wasn't something I could get excited enough about. The T is special in my view, I really like it for how I intend to use it. But what do I know - I bought one of the first 987 Boxster Spyders whilst everyone else laughed at the roof... I am a sucker for fabric door pulls and a sticker on the door laugh

I tend to agree. My thought when it was announced was will it be the next sport classic? I think it might well be. But that would mean not putting miles on it which would be of no use to me. Hence, I'll pass on it.

Personally can't see overs on this car ,now if it had the gt3/r 6 speed , X73 suspension set up and n/a engine that might change things and might get me excited!

This would be my spec - http://www.porsche-code.com/PJJQ89W2

Why does the Carrera T sound a lot better on the sound clip to the Carrera and S clips on the Porsche configuration? Is it just the fact they filmed the clip with the PSE on the T?

Thanks,

Phil

That's very similar to my 981 CGTS. Only it costs 50% more eek

It really does highlight what a complete bargain the flat six Caysters were...

The ratios feel a tad long in the 981 manual with the 20” wheels.

PDK suits the 981 very well, would not buy a manual and I am a manual fan.
