I can't see many of these being sold unless it's a boring spec, I wonder what the turbo prices might be, £190k start price.

I simply can't help but compare these to the launch pricing of the 992.1 models in 2020/21. 992.2 pricing is one hell of a step up from...

992.1 GTS launched at £108,920.
992.1 GT3 launched at £123,100.
992.1 Turbo S launched at £155,970.

In fairness we have had fairly significant inflationary factors over the last 5 years.
Think the base model looks more desirable than the GTS model.
Agreed, I would take the base or wait to see if they do a T

Vanadium was the launch colour of the Spyder RS. Vanadium and Red look great together.

I’m with you, Vanadium is great with the darker reds. I would go this way if I was buying for a daily. £107k. Paying for leather on cup holder is scandalous but looks wrong if not matched!

Even with my fantasty garage money-no-object head on, I've only managed to take a GTS from £135k base to aroudn £160k, and most of that is the PTS at £9k. Not sure how you'd get to nearly £200k unless being deliberately frivolous to make a point about the cost of options.

New PTS colour 'Seanpeach' and with Dark Night Blue interior and Orange stitching - think this would be all the car I'd ever need.

That's very.... individual

Thanks for the information. I will take a look at some of the spyder rs videos to try to get a better idea of the colour. I’m not sure about the red contrast even if that’s what Porsche has chosen for the promo models.

I’m just trying to work out what options are needed to replicate the GTS interior pack in a different colour to red or grey. Is it deviated stitching + carbon + coloured belts + coloured dials?

I put a deposit down on a Gen 2 Targa GTS when I collected my Gen 1 Targa GTS in April 2022, however don't think the Gen 2 is for me, so told my dealer that this morning.

I want a car which is more involving to drive, not just something quicker. I want a proper weekend car now that's an occasion to drive, and even the Gen 1 GTS is probably too quick (from low revs) for UK roads, so I don't really see the need for something quicker still, which a PDK Hybrid clearing is.

I'm likely to move to a Gen 1 GT3, or even a 991.2 GT3, manual, to get the added interaction I'm after (perfect car would be a manual 'touring'). I haven't spec'd a Gen 2 GTS up, but from seeing figures in this thread, 160/170k would appear to be easily achievable for a Targa and if I'm honest I think there are too many options at that price range, whether that be Porsche or not. I'd love to get a GT3 slot (Gen 1 or Gen 2), but whether thats an option I genuinely don't know, but have asked the question.

That actually looks decent value. I am easily getting a base Carrera to £115k+ on the configurator just with stuff you need for resale.
I don’t buy the 'need for resale' point. I’m on my third 992 (2x C2S and a Targa 4S), I didn’t have sport chrono on either of the C2S's and didn’t have sports exhaust on the second one after rarely using it on the first one. I had no issue whatsoever on resale, it wasn’t even mentioned by the OPC and depreciation/loss was minimal (<£15k total across two cars).

The concept of paying for something you don't really want or value, but think somebody else might want in future seems bonkers to me!

I never spec anything for resale, I spec for what I want out of the car and think is needed. Never felt I lost out on resale. Had a base carrera with standard exhaust, which I liked the look of better than the sport exhaust and it sounded ok didn’t have chrono either I had no issue selling it although it was sold at peak market hyped prices which might of helped. Why spend money for the next person when in most cases you don’t get the cost of options back.

But no right or wrong here, spec is a very personal thing.

In 3 or 4 years time there will be loads of poverty spec ones for sale, yet the reality is it was far from poverty when ordered!

Doubt it. The T is just a one time release per main model number, and the manual is a key offering for the T but the Gen 2 won't ever have manual again. Them days are sadly over.

I wouldn’t be so sure yet. Remember that when the T was launched for 991.2, it was the first time the term had been used on the 911 since the early 70s.

Since then we’ve had the 992.1 T so not a recognisable pattern yet.

The base carrera has very few differences to 992.1, so there wouldn’t be any huge difficulty to create a manual T. It’ll come down to the Porsche bean counters, but typically they like to have very regular ‘launches’ to stay hot in the media. They don’t call this Porscheheads for no reason!

I hope they do, the 992.1 T will probably be my next car. I still want to do a factory order for a 911 but it has to be manual.

So, I got sport chrono by default on my 992T, never used it once so far, can anybody advise what it does and how to control it?

I think this is now standard on the GTS
