what is an 'early' 3.4 996?

I spent yesterday prepping mine for sale, the advert is now up on here. It is bittersweet but I am only taking it to work occasionally to keep it moving so it's time for something else, possibly a Bavarian fast estate and maybe with an Alpina badge on the front.
Looks a cracking example at very sensible money.Just one f in Quaife btw

Ticks a lot of boxes. Hopefully a pain free sale. And may I say, what a lovely knob.

Thanks, and I will correct that.
That looks a lovely example and plenty of nice upgrades! Good luck with the sale.On the 997 seats, have you got the heated element of them working with the 996 switches, or some aftermarket way? I think 997 seats are about the only other thing i'd like for mine, just to sit lower. I'd go for buckets but id like to keep the car a 4 seater.
Thanks. I was undecided whether to put back to standard before selling, I have most of the original bits, let’s see if it sells like this.
On the seat heaters, yes I connected the heaters directly to the 996 heated seat relays and they work fine.

I would change as much as poss back to standard if it's quick and easy. The average buyer who is perhaps buying his first 911 will not really understand the benefits of upgrades and instead will be more interested in the headline price.ATM said:

Some buyers just don't like mods too. You will potentially be limiting your market to better educated buyers who value mods from well trodden pathways and are willing to pay a little extra to get them.

Noted. What do you think of the pricing of the car with the mods vs without them?
I better read your ad...The only quick mods to remove would be seats, knob and console delete. Then you could easily knock a grand off the price or maybe 1500. Depending on what you think they'll sell for.
Some people price a car without mods even though they're still on the car. But I think most buyers would just assume they'll get them thrown in for free. So if you do decide to remove and reprice I'd actually remove for real and include a picture with but explaining the price for each separate if the buyer wants them. If it was say 17000 without those interior mods it would look cheap to Me.
But a genuine newb might not understand the value of the lsd and gearbox rebuild and all the other little bits and bobs so I'm swinging your way now which I assume is trying to find an enthusiast who is a bit more literate.
Interior mods and lsd aside I think the car which just sold via eBay auction sounded better. So it gives you an indication what people expect for only 17 grand. Or another way to look at it is getting over 15 grand people want the world. So a car with no mods and not much work done is probably a 15k car on a good day. I think the ebay car had 10 grands worth of stuff done to it. Sounds more like a bargain every time I read it.
Are you limited to 12 pics - I'd try an include a pic of the exhaust if it looks good and not a rusty mess.
^ This, as selling stuff just increases the amount of timewasters you have to deal with, never mind the ballache of removing stuff and replacing it with the OE.
Nothing screams “enthusiast owner” more than a list of well chosen and carefully considered mods.
A car such as this will be bought by someone that’s done their due-diligence and know what they want, and appreciates the upgrades, and not by someone “looking for a bargain or the cheapest 996 around”.

Thanks for the info, i understand the relays are within the 996 seats but in the relay panel of the 997. Did you simply remove the 996 relays from the seats and locate under the 997 ones? Its a shame for me that the front seats arent black or i'd try and twist your arm to sell separately On the seat heaters, yes I connected the heaters directly to the 996 heated seat relays and they work fine.

For what it is worth HughG i would be buying your car if I was in the market, sadly I am at least 12mths off as don't want to sell my other pride and joy to achieve it. The mods are tasteful and "oem+" if that makes sense, my own car is modded in a similar way but still looks fairly standard from the outside. They are enhancements in my eyes and what it is all about (to me). Unless you really want to claw back as much money as possible i'd leave the mods with the car and await the enthusiast for whom yours stands out above the others.
Personally I like a stock cabin so would probably remove the gearknob only.
