MOT Mileage Discrepancy (Possible KMs)???

Hello,

I'm hoping I can find someone here to give me some insight into the input of odometer readings for an MOT.

I'm looking at a car (that shall remain anonymous) which has some fluctuations in the mileage readings (hopefully you can see the image above). The owner tells me...

"Input error on MOT. KMS put in at one stage. Servicing and bills prove. HPI clear no mileage discrepancies"

How likely is this? And how easy to put my (and any future prospective buyer's) mind at rest?

For clarity, the readings are as follows...

2009 - 33,251
2010 - 68,518 (BIG JUMP)
2011 - 74,293
2012 - 50,026 (BIG DROP)
2013 - 85,286 (BIG JUMP)
2014 - 55,663 (BIG DROP)
2015 - 58,567..... and so on as normal from there.

The jumps do seem to be outliers, with the 50k figures looking in line with what you'd normally expect as a more progressive increase 🤔

Otherwise, the car seems great and I'd like to believe it.

Any help/input is greatly appreciated on this one.
