I know as British we like to moan and a bad driving thread would get much more enthusiasm, but today for the first time in 3 years doing my journey to work I was impressed with somebody's driving.

Well done Mr. Yaris K*** MUC on the leathley road to Harrogate.. Although at times we suffered the pain of the 'drive everywhere at 40' brigade, you managed to get your 1.3 engine to maintain optimum speed through all obstacles, hills, turns and did 60 on the straights where it was safe to do so, this is the proof i needed to establish if smaller engined cars really couldnt reach the speed limit or whether the drivers were just morons .. hats off.

Likewise to the guy in the green Avensis yesterday, towing a caravan from Lisburn to Antrim who not only kept 60mph up some steep hills (one is 10% gradient), but also managed to outdrag a dottering fool in a Fiesta off a roundabout.

I witnessed some amazing driving this morning - safe, consistent, considerate yet rapid and slick.

Who was driving?

Me.

Is that the road that passes the Smiths Arms pub, then down the very steep twisty hill and back up the other side?
I grew up round there and loved driving those roads when I was 18-19.
Great fun trying to maintain momentum up the hills and round the bends.
