Yep..have mixed feelings. I have an M6 coupe, (and all the Bangle butt of yore), which is uglier by any standard, but it seems more aggressive to me. This car seems a bit more elegant, but it does not give the impression of something you want to whack around. Maybe its just my prejudice from being used to the old car.

Its got hints of the old 8 series from some angles, so not all bad. They just can't seem to get the back right though can they?

I think it looks better than the Bangle one, but it is very fussy. BMW seem to be following Merc's lead styling wise to an extent, i.e. in the '80s and early '90s they were rather conservative but nearly always pleasant to look at, then they went all cartoony in a quest for some individualism, now they're trying to marry the two and ending up with cars with generally happy proportions but way too much fussy detail.

Perhaps it will look better in the flesh. The new 5 has turned my head a few times.

I much prefer the not quite as new 6 series to the new one pictured above. The new one is absolutely stinking.
