Hello all, once I get back from my next trip abroad am looking at changing my everyday car (BMW E46 330D) and after looking about quite like the look of the Alfa Romeo GT (Diesel). So what do people think, as would not want to spend more than about £6500.... (was looking for a BMW 335D but don't want to spend that much money).

Great engine - also used in the Vectra / Saab 9-3 / Saab 9-5 / several Lancias and Fiats.

Never heard of any issues with them breaking - and the GT is a very well developed car - being essentially a 156 coupe with 147 electricals.

Here is the response you (don't) want.

Blue = V6, red = Diesel

Oh dear! Looks like you need to buy the V6!

Seriously though, this was its only problem in 70k (the first day he got it, alternator if I remember correctly). Liked it a lot and bought a MiTo after this one was finished with.

Lad at work has just bought one 05 plate with 80k for £6k I think. It looks the business and I'm slightly jealous.

He's averaging 35 mpg which I was surprised about I thought it would be higher.
