I need to move to London for at least a year and as a result I don't see the point of keeping a car, (on the rare times when I need one I'll hire one). So, if I'm not insured on a car for a year will I lose my NCB? I've been driving since 1993 and never claimed so I'll be a bit p*ssed off if it goes.
The reason I ask is that my ex-wife was a named driver on my policy years ago and when she went onto her own she was told her NCB allowance was zero.

Most policies will allow you to maintain your NCB for 2 years without insuring a car before it will lapse.
