Anyone recently bought/fitted a garage door?

Need one for an oak barn. Cant be doors due to proximity to lane, cant be "up and over" due to "Y" pieces on vertical oak pillars, so we need a roller door, but it needs to look right on an oak barn - so preferably oak.

Any recommendations appreciated....

(something like this but proper wood)

I can't say that I've ever seen them. How about sliding doors?

open to suggestions, but they need to be remote/automatic so they can be opened without getting out (and blocking the lane).

ta - I think that would eat too much into the parking space.

There seem to be plenty of people doing the roller doors, but most seem to be "oak effect", which is going to look pants once the oak barn has weathered and "silvered" as oak does.

Doubt you will get a solid wood roller door (I have never seen one!) as it would be a bit heavy and prone to movemenet.

Maybe a solid colour would look best rather than a wood effect? Or what about a picture printing on?

I have used these people for shutters, they seem to have a large colour range (others may be available)

Thanks,

I think you may be right - just a plant painted door rather than trying to match.

Will try those guys, thanks.

Have just found this, which might work.

These don't seem to intrude too much into the parking area, and I guess they do an automated version.

My folks have a sideways door like that and it is very convenient.
