L. R. series 2 fuel tank breather.
Discussion
This was originally posted in the Land Rover forum but I don't think there's much traffic in there, hopefully there may be someone here who has the older under-seat fuel tank set up.
One of my Land Rovers is a 1960 series 2 lwb which I've owned for about 6 years, on removing the under seat fuel tank last week to replace an outrigger I realised, quite frighteningly, that the fuel tank breather pipe ends behind the drivers seat. I'd seen the pipe before but assumed it exited at the filler spout/neck somewhere but examining that area there is no where for it to go. Maybe the filler neck has been changed at some point with one from a later model, but I have no way of knowing.
I can't believe it should exit behind the seat, there is a 90 degree bend fitting on the end of the pipe that looks as though it should go somewhere, but where? If anyone knows where it should go I'd be grateful for any help.
