I've been thinking of taking on a Skoda Yeti on lease hire for work as the payments are tax deductible and its supposed to do 60MPG, but I need to work out what towing a trailer will do to that MPG, even if only roughly. Skoda UK- understandably- don't have a Yeti with a towbar on their fleet, so I need to try and find out what I can before committing to anything.

The Defenders we use do about 22MPG dropping to about 19MPG when towing- is that the kind of factorial that always applies?

Max load is 1.5 tonnes, height of trailer is 8 feet, by 18 feet long if that helps.

I'd appreciate any info anyone could give. Apologies for the dullness.

A quick google reveals people are getting around 30mpg towing with a diesel Yeti. As they say, YMMV.

-edit-

The larger difference in MPG will be down to the frankly appalling aero qualities of a defender.
