K7 RCH

Hello everyone, thanks for taking the time to read my post but i need some advice. My number plate is K7 RCH on my BMW e30 cabrio. I keep on getting told that it is worth "various" values!!! I have been quoted £1500 by Regtransfers.co.uk but obviously this is a large company working on very healthy profit margins. How much do you think this plate is really worth??? And how best to go about selling it if?? Many thanks.......Dexter.

It is worth what someone will pay.

Easy option is stick it on Ebay but you generally won't get as much as if you waited for a buyer but then ads cost and plate dealers have very healthy margins.

Personally (and I've bought and sold a few plates) I'd guesstimate £400 but find the right person and you'll get more.

I'd normally expect to halve Regtransfers' price but that still sounds high; does it say something that I'm missing?

Under £500 would be my guess and if there's anything similar still available from the DVLA then more like £250.

DVLA tend to charge £499 for plates like that.

If the 7 was a 1, I'd say closer to 1k. As it is, I've seen similar go for 300-500.

Thanks for those whom have given me constructive advice....I appreciate it. Have since double checked with another main reg company and had a £1200 quote so maybe I am in luck. Thanks again.

There is no single number prefix "RCH" plates left on the DVLA site, which should work in your favour

Search 192.com or similar for people with the surname KIRCH and contact them

Nor any K***RCH plates. All good - I'd still reckon on halving Regtransfers' asking price, but to be clear; is the price you state what Regtransfers say you will get after their cut, or is that the asking price? If it's what they state you will get they'll probably have it up for £2,500 on their site (and consequently you wouldn't get many enquiries!)

They've offered to buy it for that or they're telling you that to get it listed (and later reduced)?

The two are very different things.

I'm no expert but unless I'm missing something it just looks like another wannabe prefixed personal plate that you see on old Rover 75s and the like.

I can't see why anyone would pay more than £500 judging by what these things are normally up for.

I think he'd be fortunate to get a couple of hundred pounds . . . but then anybody called Richard Chunster Hubert has more to worry about than his number plate wink

I'd have said about £400, but the RCH bit could be implied to read Rich/richie and might get a little bit more.

I've bought and sold a few plates and i've had some advertised with Regtransfers for over 12 years, so you might have it for a while!
