Just wishful thinking but...

If you had £40k to spend, within the next year, on a special car which of these would you choose:

Sagaris
Ferrari 360
Aston Martin Vanquish
996 GT2/GT3

Which would be the more expensive in terms of running costs?

Fuel doesn't matter as it would be a weekend car so probably no more that 3k miles pa.

Over to you my PH beauties...

All very tempting choices, but I think I'd end up walking away with the TVR at the end of the day.
I've been in love with the absolutely bonkers styling of the Sagaris ever since I first laid eyes on one cloud9

Sag or 360 for me. Probably Sag - newer car, smaller, potentially more fun!

You obviously haven't read Chris Harris' review yet.

I suppose this isn't just a random daydreaming thread.

My mate is looking to buy something special at the end of the year and his budget is £40k so just got me thinking really.

He likes the Sag but I think he wants the "right" badge.

He was keen on the 996 GT2 but I just can't face those headlight, literally.

So started having a looking at the options. The Ferrari is a great choice, but I think running costs will scare him off.

How do the others compare?

Aston for sure. The noise those things make is just incredible.

If you're going to opt for an Aston, why go with a Vanquish? You can pick up a Vantage for under £40k.

If all he wants is the badge, and running costs are an issue, then probably best to stick with a Porker of some description, although possibly not the 'Widowmaker'.

A nice 997 Carrera S should be in budget if the headlights are an issue.

Or a Aston V8 Vantage as it would be newer than the Vanquish for that money.
