Why are e36's easier to drift then e46's it is purely based on the e46 being heavier or is it becos the e46 has better traction control and grip???? Ive pranged a e36 into a lampost a few years back im scared of em ever since haha, i know own a e46 and its great, holds to the road like glue unless i turn the traction of which can jazz things up a bit lol

I found the E46 M3 MUCH easier to drift than the E36 M3, the 100% locking diff helps. The E36 is more understeery and more sensitive to cheap rubbish tyres.

It complety depends on what you prefer to slide , e36's torque delivery is seemless so a boot full will always get the tail out whereas the E46 likes to be revved harder therefore meaning you'd have to have it in the perfect rev range if you want to hold the slide.
