As above, bought a plate for Mrs 335is but now we are having second thoughts.
What is their policy on this? I looked on their website but there isn't much info.
The reason is it has the number 13 in it and `er indoors is a bit superstitious.
I think its fine BTW!
Cheers.

Don'tthink you can return them as what you saw on the website is. What you got and it's not defective

Pretty sure that number plates aren't covered by distance selling regulations, as they are a service that begins the moment they assign the plate to you, so there's no 'cooling off' period.

Hi,

I believe you have 10 days to change your mind. I bought mine from DVLA and in the email it said I had 10 days to change my mind.

Technically, the DVLA own it don't they? So you couldn't return it as such.

Fairy-nuff, I will just stick with it.
SWMBO has just informed me that it will have to go on a large 4x4 and any incidents involving said vehicle will be entirely my fault as I purchsed the plate. rolleyes

If you return it to DVLA they will refund the assignment fee of £80 and that's it.

Your other alternative is to ebay it.

Wouldn't distance selling regulations apply here? I'd have thought you could return it.

You can return it. I remember being told both times on buying private plates through the business that as there was no changing your mind due to it being a business purchase. I was told if I was buying them as a private individual then you get 14 days inside which you could return them.

I have just emailed them asking if I can exchange the plate for one with 17 in it instead if 13 as both plates are exactly the same price.
Hopefully they will say yes!
TBH I always thought no matter what you were buying you always had a "cooling off period" where you could return the goods.
A swap would do me!

Good luck swapping it

Its all in the mind. Complete rubbish about the number 13, the problem is if she can't shake that thought she will have an accident because its all in her subconscious. So on that basis you are going to have to change it
