Anyone got any suggestions for a road trip over Easter.. Hopefully staying in switzerland with friends for a few days..

Will be picking up the misses from Holland then off from there.. Looking at 12- 14 day trip..

Would have been nice to head to the Alps but i presume most of the mountain passes will still be closed..

Passes in Switzerland will be closed until June. Where in Switzerland will you be staying? Are you looking for driving only or stopping off to see various cities/places of interest?

Not sure where in switzerland tbh..

Want to stop off at various places.. I assume most roads up to the main ski resorts will be clear?

Main resort roads should be clear but you will, most likely, need winter tyres. As for places to stop, I can recommend have a look around Bern as the city centre is beautiful.

Mulhouse, in France, has a fantastic motor collection (http://www.collection-schlumpf.com/en/schlumpf/) and is on the way to Swissland.

The Black Forest in Germany is great for driving and makes up for the alpine passes being closed. There is Stuttgart for the Mercedes and Porsche museums as well as Munich for BMW and bier. While visiting Baveria, Regensburg is the most beautiful city in Germany in my opinion and well worth a visit.

The 'ring will be open during Easter but avoid Karfreitag as it will be very busy. Hockenheim operate a pay per lap policy which could also be worth investigating.

That's about all I can think of off the top of my head for the moment.

Never speed in switzerland.. the fines are hefty, keep your adrenaline for the black forest route in germany or autobahn.

Yeah the Germans are well noted for their sense of humour and tolerance, take your chance and pays your money where ever. The passes will be closed (where it is pretty safe to hoon without fear of prosecution. Towns tend to have forward facing cameras hidden in bushes and things, first thing you know is a bright red flash, ignore it. LOTS of patrols around the entrances and exits of towns though so best to be wary.
