If you had £30k to spend...

...and it had to go on a car, and that car had to be a 'toy' (track use/high days and holidays/etc), then could you do better than one of these?

By the way, this is a flight of fancy idea only, and I'm not actually looking for advice, but feel free to come up with your own ideas.

it's very nicely done, but you do realise that it is a kit car and you could build one just like it in your garage for a chunk less cash...
Nice car though!
Granted it's a kit car, but given that there's only a few genuine 550s in existence, and they cost upwards of £1 million, any (normal) person wanting a 550 is going to have to accept a 'kit'. This is a very nicely executed 'kit' though, in the same vein as a Caterham is a very nice Lotus 7 'kit'.Nice car though!
I just think that the 550 is so achingly beautiful.
It would need 'little b*****d' painted on the side though
Can I substitute track for off roading and relive my youth with a nice Defender 110 I'm sure I could knock them down on the price

You wouldn't want to track it that would be my first thought.
I reckon it would track fantastically. Yes, you're not going to want to mix it on 'public sunday' against the Barry Boys in tuned WRXs, but against other classics and lightweights, I imagine it would be superb.Mr Roper said:
Nope, as much as the Wildcat would be a shed load of fun (and I would happily pimp out the other half to get one-and he wouldn't complain lol), the draw of revisting my youth is far too strong so it would have to be the Defender (or better yet a mint series III)RPastry said:
what rollover protection would you fit for track days?
Some sort of hat?I've seen Caterhams and MX5s on track with no rollover protection (plus, the roof of a saloon car is hardly going to save you in a big roll), so, while it might be prudent, is it actually a requirement?

With enough left over for the one of these too.
