Insurance help?

I'm sure something similar has been posted before but I was unable to find it.

Our car has to go in for some work next week and we're being loaned a car but have to sort out our own insurance, my comany has decided that it wont insure me on the loan car, despite it being an avensis rather than our mg!

I can't get any short term car insurance so I don't really know what to do, does anyone know of a company that would insure me short term? (19)

Or is my only option to take out a poilicy and then cancel it during the cooling off period?

Any help would be appreciated!
