Can anyone tell me why engine gasket sets are produced and no one wants the head gasket. What is the point?

I have a load of gaskets that have been produced for the market and from what i can see no one uses them. Why would a manufacturer go to all the trouble of producing a head gasket that no one uses.

What engine are they for?

Are your engine gasket sets the complete thing (cam cover gasket, head gasket, exhaust manifold gasket, intake manifold gasket, water pump gasket..) and you're wondering why some gaskets sell more than others?

Ditto. I've asked for a subforum solely for "what car" topics, but the consensus is that it needs the eyeballs of the combined hordes of GG in order for those to be valuable.

Shame we can't hide them individually. On some services, it's possible to set /ignore flags on certain topics or people. I think PH could benefit from that.

Ok. Forgive my ignorance but this site was recommended to me by a mate. I got some head gaskets and could not work out why they were produced and not used in the trade. I am getting the feeling that this site is for something else. I thought that there were technical buffs on here that could answer the question. The gaskets cant be produced by a manufacturer if they are not going to sell. The manufacturer is Payen and from what i have found out they are not worth anything. Why is that?

I don't think I've ever seen a gasket set that includes the head gasket, usually the head gasket is sold separately isn't it?

Headgaskets are probably THE most common gaskets sold so please tell us what you're on about?

My friend has put headgaskets on 3 different cars in the last 6 months.

There are technical buffs here, but we don't understand your question.

Are you incorrectly assuming head gaskets are made to order? Or are you saying that there is no car that exists that these will fit? Why wouldn't they sell? What car are they for anyway?
