Hi,

I'm thinking about swapping the springs and dampers on my Chimaera, but by the time I'm able to do it it'll only have a couple of weeks of very light use before going off on a long overseas road trip with a track day in the middle.

How long do you reckon it would take the new springs to reach a stable level?

I'm slightly worried the ride heights may still be settling in that time and I could reach Guadix with very different geometry to that which I left London with!

A day at most in my experience. That's Eibach and H&R. All were totally settled within 50-odd miles.

Mine settled the first time I got in the car!

If you've got two weeks, park the car on level ground and use it as much as possible. I would book a 4 way alignment a couple of days before you go though - the last thing you want is pulling steering or lunching a set of tyres in 1,000 miles because your geometry has changed.

Hmm, sounds like a suspension change might be an option then. Probably wise to give it an approximate setup to start with, leave it in the garage for a few days and then drive over to get a proper setup done there after.
