Mirroring no claims with different insurers
Discussion
I'm thinking of buying a cheap (economical/practical) runabout as a second car, but am not sure whether I can use my 12 years no claims bonus on this, as I'm already insured on my main car. I know there are some insurers that will mirror NCB if you insure both cars with them (Admiral does I think) but does anyone know of insurers that will take into account a NCB when it's already "being used" on another policy? It makes no sense that I would only be safe in one of my cars!
Thanks in advance and apologies for dull email!

Best thing I can advise is to ring around and ask the insurer themselves, perhaps ask them to give you a partial discount i.e. Mirror 2 or 3 years that way at least you get something and they may be more willing to do that than mirror the whole lot.
Of course try for the 12 first if that dosn't work ask for a partial match.

How old are the cars in question? If either of them are old enough to insure as classics, you don't need no claims. That's how I've insured my Mk1 MR2 (D reg) in the past.
I recently tried the same with a 406 estate a colleague was selling dirt cheap. Even with a multicar policy, it was going to be £400ish to insure the Clio Trophy, and over £500 for the £300 406! So I gave up and sold it!
