Im popping in to London for a show this coming weekend, we'll be entering London part way through one day, and leaving part way through the next - so I assume I'll be paying for 2 days congestion charge?

Or to put it another way.

Does the congestion charge cover a specific day or do you have a whole 24 hours of use regardless of the day?

Im assuming paying inadvance is going to be better than messing round with texting/phoning on the day?

Thanks in advance.

It's active Monday-Friday. You need to pay for 100% of each day, no matter how long or short a time period you are in it. Pay in advance and then you won't forget and then get hid by a sodding great fine.

Or if you are likely to need to enter the zone again in the next few months register for auto pay. Which is automatic. So a numbskull like me may never have to pay a fine ever again.

Applies for one calendar day, not 24hrs. There are lots of shops where you can pay the charge on the day, but do it before 10pm. Easy enough to do over the phone as well, the callcentre people are surprisingly helpful.

Monday-Friday info is a good call. No charge between 6pm Friday night and 7am Monday morning. Don't forget the west London extension zone was abandoned this year. Check the map but the new borders are basically Marylebone / Euston Road to the north and Park Lane to the west.

Dont think Im likely to be heading back in to the 'big smoke' any time soon, otherwise I'd be looking at that autopay option
