Taxing a car online

I need to tax my car as it runs out at the end of this month. I havent owned the vehicle for long and I am still waiting for the V5 to come through. I have all of my other particulars, can I do this online at all or not as one of the questions in the check boxes is I am the registered keeper of the vehicle. I have the V5C Registration Certificate (Log Book) and the address on it is correct. Please note, this service cannot change your address. Or am I going to have to find time to drag my A** to a post office in between work this week. Do you get a week after it runs out to get it sorted, as it would be easier to wait for the weekend to get it it done? Any advice would be appreciated.

Dont think you can do this without the v5, its off to the post office im afraid.

You either need the V5 or the renewal notification letter which has a code on it. The issue with not having the V5 is that you can't be certain they will have your address on file yet.

Yes I thought that was going to be the case, thats such hassle as I work 9-6 everyday. I have the new keeper supplement etc, so its not as if I cant get any.

Send the wife/girlfriend/parent/child, actually knowing what it's like to queue forever at the postoffice, send somebody you don't like very much.

You get some, because you've got the New Keeper supplement, that must be one hell of a nice car
