Chassis Number Help

I need a chassis number for my previous car that got written off as I need to get the logbook from DVLA to give to my insurance. I also need an old MOT from 18 months ago. The insurance needs these two to send me a cheque for the vehicle. I've lost all the car documents and have gone to the garage MOT was done from and they can't get me a copy of the old MOT. Can anyone help me with this, I can email you the VRN if anyone can help.

Go see a local MOT staion or the local VOSA office, all the details will be on thier computor BUT you may need the V5 and or ID ?
