What is it with osme people, are they just angry at the world and looking for someone to vent their horn anger on?

Picture the scene the other night....The road is a 30mph road with an oncoming car about 50m away, Ive braked down to about 10mph and just turn right into the side street and when I get about 20m from the junction I stop to let a car coming the oposite way in the side road pass a parked car. As I sit and wait about 5+ seconds have elapsed and the car whos path I turned across passes behind me at the junction with the horn blaring! I look in my mirror and see come chav in a st box of a corsa driving down the road looking at me as if hes just had to peform an emergency stop.

Do some people overreact like this - do they just have really slow reactions? stoned? drunk? stupid? jealous?

Ive played it over and over in my head, theres no way he would have had to even brake.

I see no mention of using your indicators in your post...

It sounds like you either turned slowly across him, or stopped in front of him.

Given that he could not see your brake lights, nor depending on road layout your intentions, you may perhaps forgive him being a tad narked.

If you are turning in front of someone, IMO it's good manners to get on with it...

I turned across him, no idicators smile as I was getting on with it and he was the only car in sight (aprat from the ones behind him)

I could have got out and pushed the car and I still wouldnt have caused an obstruction to him he was that far away.

Think I just experienced my first "look at that wker in a bmw, Im going to go out of my way to show him"

So you're saying you performed a right turn into a side road, when other vehicles were present (you DON'T need to indicate if there is noone to indicate to)?

So you were in the wrong, he was obviously slightly irked and let you know with a toot of his horn. Perhaps he had no real need to do it, but surely you can see where he was coming from?

Not sure if I'd have gone the whole hog with the horn but if someone pulled across in front of me, at what is a reasonably close distance, with no indicators and therefore to me no warning whatsoever, it just indicates (pardon the pun) a general inability to drive properly.

So whilst I might not have reacted in the same way, I can't really say that I blame him.
