My first thought was Longstone Tyres, have you tried them? http://www.longstonetyres.co.uk/index

Admittedly I had a quick look for your tyre size and couldnt see it on the site..

Not a solution per se, but maybe a source of information/contacts?

http://www.forumsforums.com/3_9/archive/index.php/...

Also, I have a few contacts that might be able to tell me if there is a suitable alternative, I assume it's for a Snow-trac?

I will make a few calls Monday and get back to you via the thread. smile

You do indeed assume correct it is for the snow trac.

The little ones are no problem. Its the big ones that are like rocking horse droppings.

There are some motorbike tyres that fit the size...but the fronts are 71psi a tad high for bike tyres.

Cheers for the offer of assistance.

Okay, had a chat with a few people reference the tyre size and have been asked if you can supply some close up photos of the wheel and tyre (Where we can see the hub/sidewall/width etc.). Also any markings on the sidewall that are visible - we think we know what else was fitted with this size (Is it based on Citroen mechanicals by any chance?) but need a little more info to see if there is a modern size that is suitable, or if we can point you in the direction of a supplier of the specific size. PM me through my profile with the information if you want me to investigate further.

Hope that helps!

Cheers will do.
It's based on VW mechanicals.
It might be weekend before I can get some decent pics. It will be dark by the time I'm home.

Thanks for the effort so far.

No probs, send them when you have chance - the reason I asked about the mechanicals was apparently the old 'corrugated metal' (I don't know what they were called, sorry) Citroen vans had that size, so we wondering if it may be a wheel off one of those used inside the tracks - hence wanting the wheel photos. As before if you get the photos to me, I will (Or certainly my colleagues will!) endeavour to help!

Cos the details don't show up it says.....
Trelleborg, Made in Sweden, 600x100, 6ply, EXTRA....on both sides of the tyre.

The rim has....
2.15x16 NAGBOL stamped in it.

http://www.vintagetyres.com/

Try them, they can either source or make most old tyres.

these guys are brilliant, had a customer who had an Aston Martin Lagonda and could never get tyres for and they were brilliant.

Oh and also, I echo the recomendations of Longstone and Vintage, having had dealings with both they are both excellent. Hopefully I will get some more relevant information tomorrow for you though - will post on thread when I can! smile

OP - My colleague has got back to me, whilst it's not a tyre he can point you in the direction of - he has offered to have a chat with you about the application/weight constraints/rim type and technical information about tracked vehcile and tyre usage - hopefully this will put you in a better position to source a replacement/alternative.

As I don't really want to post his contact details on an open forum, could you please PM me if you would like to speak with him? He is the the Michelin UK Industrial Technical Manager, so as you can imagine is far more knowledgeable on the subject than myself!

HTH smile
