What to do - seen my old car for sale clocked by dealer?
Discussion
My S2000 appeared with a 3k haircut. Unfortunately I had no proof so there was no real point making a fuss.
As to why so little - I'm guessing that dropping the mileage below a significant interval can easily add 1-2% to the value of a car, and it's not checkable/traceable by the buyer as long as there's not been a recent service.
So it's low-risk and (now) cheap to do, for a nice little gain.
Only solution is to write the at-sale mileage on the v5, which I have to confess I didn't do in this instance as it wasn't a private sale.

Does the reduced mileage mean that it will be sold as recently serviced, as opposed to service due soon?
Report it although until it is sold without disclosure of the true mileage no offence has been committed.
Think this might be wrong Rob. It's an offense to mislead and misrepresent even before sale. Report it although until it is sold without disclosure of the true mileage no offence has been committed.
Trading standards take this matter quite seriously I believe. Would be worth reporting it to them, it may at least highlight them to the company and observe for any other possibly clocked cars. This won't be the first time the company has done it.
I assume only 6k so doesn't conflict with e.g full service history/ MOT and doesn't seem to good to be true.

That 60k mark seems to be a mental barrier for a lot of people...http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/2438702.htm

I think we should all mail them and ask if the mileage is correct http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/2438702.htm
