Would the impact at the front corner not have bent the chassis?

If you read the advert, he's not actually trying to sell the car, he's asking for parts to repair it.

I understood it to be you can buy the car as is for £8k, and/or he is looking for parts to repair it? Perhaps I am not reading it right. Either way, I cant see how that isnt Cat C or worse.

Isn't that a way of getting round eBay charges for vehicles, its clear he is trying to sell it. I once advertised a photograph of my boat on ebay so I didn't have to pay the excessive marine craft sales charges.

Ah perhaps you're right.

I don't know whether it'll be cat-C; what are these things worth?

I thought that would be a Cat B, as the chassis could well be twisted.

Just repair or replace the bulkhead. The best bet for that would be finding another 110 with a shot chassis/stuffed mechanicals and just do a body swap, but I'm not convinced it's worth as much as £2k.

There was an article in a Landy mag about such a project but it was a late 110. Things like good doors are very hard to find, £2k for 4 of them I think.

And the rebuild in the Landy mag took 2 years and cost more than a good second hand one.

For parts I think!

Sounds like they want the parts to fix, but could also be a way of selling it. . . . .but why bother with the confusion when its only £8.50 or so + premium to sell a car on Ebay?

As for what catagory it is, I'd suggest that as they want to repair it, the loss may have happened outside of the insurance industry, therefore it would not have been given a rating i.e. somebody stuffed it and wasnt insured

Seen a few crashed defenders now, and the rigidity of the top half is a bit of an eye opener IMHO. Showing its age. I wouldn't want to be in a big accident in one - especially rolling over.

No offence to anyone but that looks like a fatal to me.
Hi,
Don,t think it would have been a fatal. It is my understanding a vehicle that is involved in a fatal collision
is crushed, as in not broken for parts or repaired. Normally outwith the local area.

It's a perfect identity donor for a stolen one to gain a new legitimate identity. Especialy since the chassis is seperate. That's why it's listed at such a high price.

Good point. Have you reported it to ebay?
