Country of origin product labelling - Law?
Discussion
Hi,
Does anybody know the law on stating the country of origin on products?
I am looking at having a safety glove made outside of the EU and was asked if we have to put the country of origin on the label but I can't find any definitive answers.
I do know you cannot claim something is 'Made in the UK' if it is not, but that is not the issue, I can't find if you are obliged to state the country of manufacture.

I presume you are only considering selling within the UK or EU?
The only regulations I can find refer to food.
The enginnering products my employer sells are manufactured in all the usual places world wide and many are sold unboxed and unlabelled. We do produce stock labels which include the COO when known, but these labels are only used when they can be attached to a box or packet.
Don't take this as absolute but I cannot find anything where it says the product must be labelled with COO.
